Construction Training International (CTI) is pleased to announce the introduction of its Crane Supervisor & Appointed Person courses. Aimed at the general onsite supervisor, overseeing the use of cranes, these courses are the only courses of this type currently on offer in Australia.

Crane Supervisors Course
Cost : $1800 PP
This course runs over 3 days. Topics covered include:
- assisting in management of cranes from an OH & S perspective
- environmental factors
- reading crane charts
- crane safety devices
- following lift plans
- potential hazards and unsafe lifting
- regulatory requirements
- maintenance and inspection requirements
- training and certification
- inspect lifting gear and relevant documentation
- ensuring the safety of persons in the vicinity
Appointed Person Course
Cost $1200 PP
This course runs over 2 days and is aimed at the person responsible for developing and signing off work method statements etc. for the Crane Supervisor. This competency would provide the trainee with expertise in:
- assess the lifting operation
- planning a safe system of work
- completing a method statement
- obtaining permits
- preparation of an area/exclusion zones
- crane selection & capacity
- conduct lift study
- prepare rigging diagrams
TOTAL COST $3,000 PP
The two courses are run independently; however the Crane Supervisors Course is a prerequisite for those wanting to complete the Appointed Person Course.
Motivated by the ongoing industry need for competent persons to supervise the use of cranes, CTI’s Director, Peter Patterson, began researching courses overseas and completed the UK training in this field late last year. Peter then combined his 30 years experience in construction industry OH & S and the use of cranes with, CTI Trainer & Assessor, Brendan Conroy’s knowledge of the crane industry and expertise in the training environment, to develop these courses.

All outstanding balances must be made in full on your first day of Class.
